La Farandula is an actors’ agency based in Barcelona with a prominent presence in the entertainment business. Over the past 10 years, they have been representing actors utilizing a striking symbol of a large red carnation to establish their unique identity. After a long time, they decided they needed a change and asked me to redesign their logo without losing their distinct identity.

It is known that in Japan, people often use a personal seal with red ink on documents—in addition to their signature—to verify their identity. These seals are called Hankos and everyone has one. The symbol used on the seal, known as a Kamon, represents a crest used to indicate one's origins. It is said that there are more than 20,000 distinct individual Kamons in Japan.

For this project, we created a Hanko incorporating Farandula’s original carnation, enabling it to serve as a seal similar to how Japanese people use their Hankos. This approach would maintain Farandula’s identity at its strongest level.
